Duplicate stitch August 28, 2008

I recently went hunting online for a really clear, well illustrated tutorial on duplicate stitch. I knew the fundamentals of it but wanted to see an example of it in action.

I came across this great tutorial on the purl bee’s site and wanted to share it with others.

After much furrowing of my brow, I completed this for my Wahmania store:

Spring has sprung early! August 28, 2008

I planted some bulbs this year. It’s always something I INTEND to do but never get around to doing.

I had some jonquils come up and they smelt DIVINE!! I’m a bit sad that our recent rain has destroyed my freesias Wilted Rose Freesias are my all time favourite flower and I was really looking forward to having their perfume inside.

I did manage to bring the flowers below inside. I can’t really remember what they’re called Embarrassed Renunculas?

Sculpey Stitchmarkers for September! August 15, 2008

Filed under: Knits for Knitspirations — knitspirations @ 11:44 am

I’ve been eyeing off the sculpey rack at my local shop and kept putting it off – “Oh I have enough to do” blah blah blah. Of course, though, I can never walk too far past a new craft project so the lure of the sculpey won and my little guy and I have been having fun playing “Play Oh!” (play doh) at our dining table most days – he used play doh, I use sculpey (“mummy’s special play doh”).

They super cute and get my little guy’s stamp of approval :) I wanted to make sure they were recognisable as what I intended them to be so I asked Thom what they were. He recognised them all, except for the strawberries which he insists are apples Tongue out

Oh! Sculpey is sort of like Fimo or Polymer Clay. It’s soft and pliable and when you bake it slowly and not too hot in the oven it hardens. It’s so fun to use!
